The basic a swer is yes. There are a sizeable group of people who use the rules mentioned a d the periods you enquire a out. Please come to the club a d see for yourself what is played.
Kev, thanks for your reply. If I remember correctly, I think I have had a game ( By Fire & Sword ), or possibly two, with you at the club a number of years ago. I will take you up and come over to see for myself.
As Kev said there are many players at the club who play those rule sets.
FOGA and FOGR are played the most from the sets you mentioned.
Depends what armies you have really. People in the club have armies from the biblical period right up to the late 1600s.
Hope to see you at the club
Mark, thanks for your reply. I may have met you in the past, as I have attended a few times at the club, but a number of years ago now. My Rules and Armies are mostly suited for the Original Rule sets for both FoG, FoGR & FoGA and DBM. I have not played the newer versions. I have early ECW Parliamentarian, Swedish 30YW for Renaissance, and then Republican Romans, Parthians, Fatimid Egyptians, Abbasid Arabs, Ostrogoths & Mitanni ( Chariot period ). The majority of these were originally collected for DBM and are not therefore quite big enough/wrong types of troops to play FoGA. But anyway, I will try to pop over to the Club soon to see what types of Rules etc. that are used. Cheers for now. Rod.
I think your best bet will indeed be popping along and seeing what is being played.
You are bound to find someone with the same interests for future games
thanks and hopefully I may see you at the club soon.
