    WWS Chairman

Hi all, it is my sad duty to inform the membership that Kev Smith has resigned as chairman this morning. Kev will still be a familiar sight at the club and I wish him well for the future.

Indeed sad news. I’m sure Kev has very good reasons.

Could I thank Kev for all his service to the club as chairman over the years. The club has gone from strength to strength under his leadership.

The committee are currently booking a meeting to discuss the issue and will let you know as soon as we have an answer. Usually committee meeting are held before an afternoon club meeting. Lucky the club is currently in a quiet time of year

Sorry to hear that El Presidente has stepped down (or was he pushed.....?). You did a lot of good things for the Club, Kev, and led it from strength to strength. Whoever takes over will have a hard task ahead of them, but at least will be starting that journey from a position of great strength.

I have just rejoined the forum and wanted to mark the return with a humble tribute.

I would like to add my thanks and admiration for the long service that Kevin has given to the Society. He has been responsible, even handed and ably “led from the front” with a benign authority and respect to all. In my experience, Kevin makes everyone feel welcome and valued as a member.

With his generally jocular persona and his easy manner, he made the role look easy. I can assure everyone it is not as easy to ably discharge the duties as it might appear.
