Just a note for new and returning members to let you know that we have a small board gaming group that meets on the Friday evening before each long Saturday meeting of the month. Currently there are 5 or 6 of us and we take it in turns to host. As it is based in homes and not at the club there is only one table and numbers are restricted to 6 max. The good news is that it is free. If anyone is interested put a post on here and I will get in touch with you with more details.

as things stand at present Martin Goddard of Peter Pig is due to visit the club on Saturday 11th December for a game of his new Mexican Revolution. If anyone is interested in joining in please let me know. Also this is an opportunity to get some figures from him post free. Just order from him in the usual way but when it comes to delivery options go for "I will collect". It is then best to send him a separate e-mail advising him that you have placed an order to collect at Wessex Wargames Society. If there is any change to this I will post it here.

I was honoured to receive an invitation to attend an event called “A Celebration of the Life of Richard Tennant.” It was held on the afternoon of 13 November at his golf club in the New Forest.
Richard was one of a number of former members from the very early era of the Temperance Institute venue. He is one of those who moved away from the Southampton area and we have maintained contact with each other. His moves were dictated by his employer and, initially, I thought it was far enough when he went to Stockport. But Richard always did things in style, and he subsequently spent the years of his career in Taiwan, Nigeria, Greece and the Netherlands.
