Surface Action Naval Wargames Rules - duns.scotus - 06-12-2019

Hi all,
I have managed to acquire from Paul Syms, one of the authors of these rules, some new sets which are available from me to club members for the princely sum of £1 a copy (to cover postage). For those that don't know these rules were first published by Paul in the 1980s (I think) and have been championed by Bob Douglas, amongst others, at the club ever since I have been a member. Considering their age they are a very good set of rules and provide a very playable game. The rules cover the period from about 1910 to 1945.
Currently Kev Smith is running a North Sea WW1 campaign using these rules, which Jon Philp, Bob Douglas, Leith Crunden and I are participating in. So if you want to know more about the rules you can ask any of us about them.
If anyone wants a set of these rules please let me know before they disappear off the shelves.
Cheers
John

Likewise young Baverstock a copy shall be yours.

Please put me down for a set of the rules. It sounds a bargain just to see what was written back then. After having seen some of the contemporary crop of rules, I am thinking about going retro myself in at least one instance. Not as far back as one of my friends who gave the Peltast and Pila rules of Tony Bath a go. They probably should have been called Blood Bath rules. They did produce an engaging game at the time.

The only caveat to buying the set of rules is I don't know yet the next time when I will be at club. If you can be patient with me, and extend a little credit, I will let you know in advance when I will appear.

Steve

Steve that is not a problem. I will put a set by. I won't be at the club until the end of July at the earliest.
Cheers
John
